Acne is a common chronic skin condition that affects the hair follicles and sebaceous (oil) glands, leading to clogged pores, inflammation, and bacterial overgrowth. It most often appears on the face, chest, shoulders, and back and is most prevalent in adolescents, but can persist or develop in adulthood.
